Josephine ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Josephine mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

• First name
• Date, time, and city of birth
• Email address (if you create an account)
• Dietary preferences
• Focus intentions

Information collected automatically:

• Device type and operating system
• App usage and session data
• Push notification token (if you enable notifications)
• Purchase history through Apple App Store

Information we do not collect:

• Your last name
• Your phone number
• Your location in real time
• Any health or medical data
• Social media accounts
• Payment information (handled entirely by Apple)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Calculate your birth chart across Western, Vedic, and Chinese astrological systems
• Generate your personalized daily notes, weekly sky readings, and practice recommendations
• Send push notifications if you enable them
• Improve the accuracy and personalization of your experience
• Process and restore your in-app purchases

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties. Ever.

4. Astrological Calculations

Your birth date, time, and city are used exclusively to calculate your astrological chart using Swiss Ephemeris astronomical data. This information is stored securely and never shared with third parties.

Birth time is used only for chart accuracy. Approximate times are acceptable and we do not require precision.

Your data is stored on Supabase servers located in the United States. We implement industry standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest, row-level security so only you can access your data, and secure authentication via Apple Sign In and magic link email.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Export your data
• Opt out of push notifications at any time through your iPhone settings

To exercise any of these rights contact us at hello@josephineapp.com and we will respond within 30 days.

8. Data Deletion

To delete your account and all associated data email hello@josephineapp.com with the subject line "Delete my account." We will permanently delete all your data within 7 business days and confirm when complete.

9. Children

Josephine is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information please contact us at hello@josephineapp.com.

10. Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications we use your device token to send you personalized daily notes and weekly sky readings. You can disable notifications at any time through your iPhone Settings app. Disabling notifications does not affect your access to any features.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
